So with summer coming you need something to shade your eyes, or maybe you just need a conversation piece… Well have I got a deal for you
So here’s the story on the Caliber Hats. My mom & dad sell western wear at the rodeos in Western Canada. Every winter they head to Florida and go around to their wholesalers to pick up product for the upcoming season. While at one of their wholesalers, my mom spied a bunch of hats, lots of hats and asked why they were sitting where they were. Turns out that in the summer of 2010 the wholesale company in Texas had a load of hats being shipped in from Mexico where these particular hats are made. The truck driver decided to stop for the night in San Fernando, Mexico before heading across the boarder. Just as he was entering his motel room a gun fight broke out between the Mexican Police and the Drug Cartel in the parking lot with his truck in the middle of the fray!! The truck was riddled with bullet holes and the hats along with it. The truck driver never entered that truck again, he walked away and left it where it was sitting. So now, the wholesale company has these hats and doesn’t know what to do with them.
Mom was recounting this story to my husband and I while we were at our local legion and a couple of the guys and ourselves thought it was quite an interesting story. We decided then and there to purchase these hats! My mom bought the whole load and I bought 2 dozen of them. A couple are already spoken for by the guys at the legion, but if you are in the market for a new hat with a great conversation starter, look no further
These hats regularly sell for around $70.00 and that is without the holes or the great story attached. We are selling them for $24.99. They come in a range of size from 6 7/8 to 7 3/8
Of course if you’d like to purchase some hats or other western wear without bullet holes you can go to my mom & dads site at R Place Western or visit them at one of the rodeos that they sell their wares at.
Until Next Time,
Sherry
